15 Days until War

War meaning Nanowrimo, obviously.

I'm getting more excited the closer November gets. Originally, I wasn't too fond of my idea about another 'Based off reality' fiction. As much as I am DYING to write a story about life at camp, I still don't think I'm a good enough writer in that genre to safely write the story without basing it too much off my real life experiences, the people, and everything at Teen Ranch. My goal this year is to write a good enough novel that after Nano I can work on editing to send in to a publisher.

One of my co-workers is participating now, so that should be fun.

NANOWRIMO is almmooosssstttt here!!!

P.s. Ugly Betty is turning into a nailbiter. AHHHH!

The Election Day Blues

Well, it's Election Day, and I feel like I'm screwed. I have no idea who I am voting for. I suppose I should have taken this weekend to figure it out, but I kept forgetting. That, and the campaign commercials were just plain pissing me off. Except for Jack Layton's commercials. Out of all of his that I saw, only one actually attacked Harper. The rest were talking entirely about what Layton wanted to do to improve our health care, education and economy. That my friends deserves kudos and a pat on the back for Layton. Talk about respectful campaigning.

Then, we have Harper and Dion. Those two remind me of a couple of kids in kindergarten arguing with the teacher about who got the paper mache all over the floor. It's ridiculous. Just once I would like to see a campaign from the Liberals or Conservatives where it's not the two of them going 'But Miss, it's HIS fault this happened! Look at all the mean things he's done! He's the bad one, not me!'

So, I suppose the Conservatives and the NDP have a few more hours to convince me what my final vote will be.

Nanowrimo

Well, I'm slowly beginning to prepare for my third shot at NANOWRIMO, hopefully this year with better luck at finishing a novel than last year. I'm going to attempt once again to do a novel based fairly loosely off reality, but going to try and figure out how I went wrong last year and correct that. And of course, I'm totally going to avoid the romance stuff. I guess I'll see how things go.

One thing I'm really hoping for is more people in the Orangeville area participating. It would be nice to try and get some folks together for write-ins and such. I've already found one person so far, so that is exciting.
